About Shari

My paintings usually begin without a fixed plan or a clear destination. I don’t start with a sketch or a specific image in mind. I begin with color and movement, allowing the composition to take shape gradually through each layer, edit, and revision.

Each piece goes through many lives before it feels complete. Sections are built up, sanded back, covered over, scraped into, softened, and reworked. Some areas become more intense over time, while others are quieted down or allowed to peek through in fragments. That history remains visible in the surface — the traces of what came before are part of the final piece.

Bold color and instinctive energy shape my abstract work. While my paintings are not literal depictions of nature, they often carry echoes of it — organic rhythms, floral energy, and natural movement that surface through pure abstraction. Built in layers that reveal depth and dimension, my canvases invite viewers to linger, discovering details and textures that unfold over time.

Guided by my vision — Bold by Nature. Unbound by Color. — I embrace originality, expressive freedom, and the joy of the unexpected. Each painting is created to feel vibrant, individual, and alive.
